ABOUT
Artist Statement
I am interested in interplay between daydreaming, emotions, and the evocative power of memory. Using oil on linen as a primary medium, I create intimate portraits and surreal compositions that reflect moments of vulnerability, introspection, and longing for something just out of reach.
I hope to create paintings that resonate deeply with the viewer, sparking their own reflections on the unseen stories we carry.
During the painting process my goal is to give equal attention to the emotional element of the subject as much as to its anatomy. The technical process of building a form is as important to me because I am strongly influenced by academic tradition. I find it fascinating when a 2D image can give a viewer a rich and extended emotional and cognitive experience.
